Entrepreneur Education have released a suite of design courses to complement all levels of creativity, from the beginner, to intermediate through to the more experienced who is looking for the next design challenge. Each course will cater to your needs and help carve a creative career that suits you.

CUA40715 Certificate IV in Design (38 weeks)

Thinking of dipping your toes into the world of design, but have no experience? The Certificate IV in Design is perfect for creatives who have not yet explored the world of graphic design, or creativity in a professional capacity.

This introduction to Graphic Design guides students through the Adobe Creative Suite software at a beginner level, step by step!

The course is delivered by a practicing local graphic designer and artist, who starts at the beginning – educating on the principles of design, typography, digital imaging, colour theory, WHS in the studio, layout and digital technologies.

Students will design logos, billboards, illustrate for surface patterns, menus, a branding style guide as well as an elective project of their choice.

A student subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud is required to start this course, available at www.adobe.com.

Graduates of the Certificate IV in Design are equipped for further study in the Diploma of Graphic Design, or potentially begin working as a Junior Graphic Designer in an agency or studio.

CUA50715 Diploma of Graphic Design (54 weeks)

The Diploma of Graphic Design is suitable for beginner designers, or for those who have had minimal exposure to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite previously. A qualified, experienced mentor will guide students through the basics of Graphic Design in stage 1 of the course, moving through to stage 2 for the remainder of the course where more advanced skills are applied.

As with the Certificate IV in Design, students will work on assessments that have a client at the centre of the project. This contextualises the project and applies design skills outside of the classroom and into the industry space.

Students will design branding, labels, packaging, magazines, articles, digital illustration, poster and promotional design. A specialisation project allows students to sink their teeth into an elective project where their individual skills will shine!

As part of the Diploma delivery, students will also be exposed to real client briefs through the in-house studio e studio 101. Local and international clients approach the studio for design work from students, which provides exposure to industry and real-time feedback that just can’t be learnt in the classroom.

A student subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud is required to start this course, available at www.adobe.com.

Graduates of the Diploma of Graphic Design are equipped for further study in the Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design, or potentially begin working as a Junior Graphic Designer in a studio, moving towards midweight responsibilities, or begin their freelance career or as a remote Graphic Designer.

Francis Martineau from Montreal, Canada, shares his experience:

“I really enjoyed my studies in Graphic Design at entrepreneur. At first I was a bit nervous and wasn't sure what to expect due to the fact that I wasn't considering myself as someone who can draw, physical or digital.

We then started the course with the basics of different Adobe programs which bring me confidence and open doors to more possibilities. Watching short videos and other artists work was good for inspiration and motivation. The live briefs were the best assessments, through them we were using our new skills, personnel styles and research, it felt like we were working for real clients. It was also great to have presentation in front of the class so we could see others work and get feedbacks. The theory side of the course was not as fun but really useful and complete for starting up our own business.

I would definitely recommend this course.”
